Notarial translation (notarized translation) is translation of the document made by a translator and certified by a notary.
Notarial translations are required to make the translated documents (passports, diplomas, certificates, etc.) legally binding with their subsequent presentation to various state authorities or to the consulate of another country for a visa.

"Fundamentals of RF legislation on notaries" (Law No.4462-1 of February 11, 1993, as amended).
Documents submitted for notarized translation must have an apostille (for the countries participating in the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961) or consular legalization, unless otherwise stipulated by international treaties.
